USS Constitution

I took these pictures in Boston while on the deck of the USS Constitution.  I wanted to focus closely on objects people may pass by without noticing while on the ship.

Fruit

I recently got an assignment where I had to take pictures of fruit.  It was really open ended, but I got creative.  I wanted to play around and experiment with the fruit.  I was really happy with some of my results.

Swans

I never knew I was going to see so many swans when I went to England.  In Stratford Upon Avon there were so many together in the river.  They were so beautiful.  Which photo is your favorite?

London Phone Booths

London is known for their amazing phone booths!  They're all over the place and they make the city really fun.  If only they had red phone booths everywhere!

St. Paul's Cathedral and Millenium Bridge

I took this photo because I liked the modernized part of the city (Millenium Bridge), with the old (St. Paul's Cathedral) in the background.  The clouds were super spooky, which I thought added a lot to the picture.

UNDERGROUND

The Underground is by far London's most reliable and quickest form of transportation.  Also known as the "tube" this has become a popular part of London's tourism industry.  People buy underground maps and "mind the gap" shirts all the time when visiting.

I wanted to capture the popular underground sign.  Whenever people see this symbol they know a station is there.  

Tower Bridge

The Tower Bridge goes over the Thames River in London.  I went on a river boat cruise and got to see it during sunset.  It was so beautiful!  

Big Ben

One of London's most famous landmarks is Big Ben.  Technically the name of it is "The Clock Tower."  The bell inside is named Big Ben.  Anyway... I went both during the day and at night to capture it's beauty.

Capturing Nature

It's really awesome when you come upon something magnificent in nature and have your camera with you.  I captured this spider web one morning when it had some drops of dew in it.

Star Fruit

I decided to take some pictures of star fruit the other day.  I think they are really interesting in taste, color and shape, so I wanted to capture them cut up and ready to be eaten.

Water Dam

This is a photo I took at Thurman Dix Reservoir.  I thought it was really beautiful the way the water fell in a bunch of different directions.  

Dead Roses

For some reason I keep coming back to photographing dead flowers.  I want them to be seen as beautiful even though they are now dried out and dead.  Here's one I took today.

The Shadows of the Darkness

I think is is probably one of the most interesting pictures I've taken.  I'm not sure what to think about it.  It's so unique and I've never really seen a photograph like it.  What do you think?

Taking Back Sunday

Taking Back Sunday, and their opener Ace Enders came to perform at my college this semester.  They put on a really great show, and we sold a lot of tickets.  Here are some photos I took during the show.

Christmas in Vermont

I took some of these photos when I went to Vermont.  It was all very christmasy, and I wanted to capture the Vermont christmas feel that I love so much!

Zebra Rose

Here's a recent picture I took of a rose.  I absolutely love the contrast with the bright pink color and the zebra carpet in the background.  I cropped it purposely as long and narrow because I wanted to show a lot of the carpet.  I tried to make the dimensions 8x10 but I absolutely hated the photo when it was displayed this way.  It has to be long and narrow.  In my opinion, this is what makes the photo.

Colorado Hike

Here are some photos I took while on a hike in Colorado.  I loved how blue the sky was.  It was a really beautiful hike with amazing views of Boulder.

Fall 2011

This year the colors for fall were so beautiful.  I went on a walk and took 100's of pictures.  Here are some of my favorite ones.  Which ones do you like best?

Dulwich Tree

I took this photograph in Dulwich, England.  It's a really interesting village with so many great trees with tons of branches.  I saw this tree while on a tour at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, and snapped a picture quickly past the tour guide.

Hartwick During Fall
